About Me

Picture

Welcome to my clinical practice website. I am a clinical psychologist who works with adults and couples. I work primarily from a cognitive-behavioral perspective, and apply Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for individuals, couples therapy informed by Gottman Method and DBT, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for depression, anxiety, and binge eating disorders.  I have trained in behavioral treatments for the past 10 years, and in mindfulness-informed approaches for the past 7 years.  My dissertation research involved watching hundreds of videos of romantic partner conflict, and assessing nonverbal and verbal predictors of relationship satisfaction, and partner aggression.  Given my background in couples research and extensive clinical experience treating teens, I particularly enjoy helping parents and couples develop a more connected and loving relationship (and better stress management) while raising kids with emotional difficulties.  I also love working with new and seasoned parents with the goal of becoming even more mindful, intentional and self-compassionate in their relationship with their children.

From 2013-2015, I served as Assistant Director of the DBT training clinic at  the University of Washington (UW), under Dr. Marsha Linehan, creator of DBT. I also serve as a guest lecturer and clinical supervisor at UW in DBT and couples therapy.

From 2013-Aug. 2016, I treated adolescents and families affected by emotion dysregulation at Cadence Child and Adolescent therapy. cadencechat.com

As of April 2017, I am excited to announce that I have joined The Seattle Clinic (TSC), a collaborative of private practitioners dedicated to compassionate, evidence-based practice, training clinicians, and enhancing relationships with the larger community.

In Fall of 2018, The Seattle Clinic launched a DBT training program for advanced UW doctoral students, our DBT team provides a yearly DBT didactics series and live supervision of our DBT trainees.  Starting in 2019, we are excited to be expanding our DBT training program to train both SPU and UW students.
